But what can the cold-chain system be used for? ❄️

When storing and/or transporting food goods, respecting the cold-chain system is crucial for various reasons, all vital and linked to food safety.. 

For starters, maintaining cold temperatures prevents the proliferation of disease-causing bacteria. Large temperature variations can cause microorganisms to multiply rapidly, increasing the risk of food poisoning and disease. 

The quality of products can also be compromised if the cold-chain system is not respected, for example by altering the texture, flavor, color or even the nutritional value of foods. 

Refrigerated storage and transportation are subject to numerous health regulations, which, if violated, can result in regulatory sanctions, product recalls or even legal sanctions. 

Respecting the cold-chain system helps us gain the trust of consumers (or in our case, our customers) by guaranteeing the safety and quality of products (thanks to measures detailed later in the article).

In summary, respecting the cold chain is essential to ensure the safety, quality and regulatory compliance of food goods during their storage or transport. 

All our vehicles are equipped with Carrier HVAC refrigeration units equipped with a DataCold 600 (a temperature recorder with integrated printer) connected to Michelin Connected Fleet for better monitoring of temperatures thanks to double recording (locally on the DataCold and in the cloud on Michelin Connected Fleet) ​ 📈

All this allows us to keep detailed records of the temperature during transport, the duration of the journey and any incidents that may affect the quality of the goods. 

Door opening detectors are able to tell us which doors have been opened, at what time and for how long, in order to limit as much as possible the cold escaping. 💨

Our vehicles undergo regular maintenance to ensure the cooling systems are functioning properly. 

Finally, it is possible to ask the driver for a transport ticket, or to ask for it after receiving your goods (within a maximum of one year).
